Buying a home is one of the most important financial decisions in life. At the same time, it is often a time-consuming, stressful, and complicated process. You need to scroll through dozens and dozens of listings across different platforms and hope that your dream home is hiding somewhere in between. The search can take weeks, months, or sometimes even years. It becomes exhausting, especially when platforms don’t consider people’s real needs and preferences.

To make this process easier, we created HomeFindsYou, a smart home search mobile app that helps you find your dream home and lets your dream home find you.

How was HomeFindsYou created?

The idea for HomeFindsYou came from a personal experience. The company’s founder, Magnus Meldre, was looking to buy a home for his family in Pärnu. Although it seemed like there were plenty of listings on real estate portals, many of the apartments were already sold or reserved, and those that remained did not meet his family’s needs. The search became a long, time-consuming, and nerve-wracking process. Through this experience came a clear realisation: finding a home should be easier, more convenient, and more personalised.

Home search based on your needs

HomeFindsYou is not a real estate portal – it is a home search mobile app that works based on your preferences. The app only shows you homes that match your specific needs and expectations.

You create a profile where you can define exactly what kind of home you are looking for – from location, price range, and number of rooms to details such as a balcony, storage space, and the surrounding environment. For example, you can choose preferences such as proximity to parks or kindergartens, a sea view, or a walking distance to public transportation.

Additionally, HomeFindsYou is the first app in Estonia that allows you to mark your preferred location based on neighbourhood level – for example, the Siili neighbourhood in Mustamäe, Tallinn, the Rannarajoon in Pärnu, or Kelmiküla in central Tallinn. We have also collected many ideas from test users to make the profile setup even more personal in the future, with features we plan to introduce first in Estonia.

How does HomeFindsYou work?

Once you’ve set your preferences, the app will search for suitable homes listed by sellers on our platform, including properties that are not yet publicly listed anywhere else. As soon as a matching home becomes available, HomeFindsYou sends you a mobile notification, so you can react quickly.

Suppose your preferences match those of a property listed by a seller, and you accept the offer. In that case, the app shows contact details to both sides. This means you stay anonymous and protected until there is mutual confirmed interest. You can then quickly contact the seller and arrange a viewing directly, without any fees

What does this mean for home seekers?

HomeFindsYou provides access to hidden market opportunities. Many of the best homes in Estonia are sold before they ever appear on public portals. Now, you can be part of these deals too.

You won’t be shown endless irrelevant listings. Instead, the app shows you only the properties that truly match your needs, saving you time and energy.

Thanks to real-time notifications, you will be among the first to know about suitable properties, giving you a head start.

Finally, since contact information becomes visible only when a match is found, the entire process remains simple and fast. There’s no need to negotiate through intermediaries or pay extra fees – you communicate directly with the seller.

Who lists properties on HomeFindsYou?

On HomeFindsYou, properties are listed by a variety of sellers, including private owners, real estate agents, and developers.

Sellers can quickly and easily upload their property listings to the app for free, including a link to their existing portal listing if they have one. This makes adding a listing even faster.

Suppose a seller is only starting to consider selling. In that case, HomeFindsYou is a great place to begin with off-market listings and to see how many buyers are interested in a property at a specific price. Anonymity is guaranteed until the buyer accepts the seller’s request.
